Investigators with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are asking any witnesses of a fatal hit-and-run this month to come forward.
According to an update, VIIMCU is asking anyone who was with or spoke with Rod Kelly of the Comox Valley on the evening of Feb. 8.
They also appeal to people to check their dashcam footage capturing travel between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on the Comox Valley Parkway.
Kelly is the victim of a hit-and-run that led to the arrest of a 45-year-old Cumberland man. He is charged with first-degree murder and for not stopping after a crash that caused death, according to officers.
Officials say Kelly, a cyclist, was found injured by a passerby near Minto Road. They called 911 for help and Cumberland Fire Department and paramedics attended the scene.
He was taken to the hospital, however, he died because of his injuries.
