Spot fire breaks out in Comox Lake area

Coastal Fire Centre crews have two helicopters, along with ground crews, attacking a small forest fire in the Comox Lake area, near the Comox Main.

Spokesperson Donna McPherson says the Comox Lake “spot fire” is a fraction of a hectare in size, while a blaze west of Campbell River is a larger fire.

McPherson says Coastal Fire Centre crews are making progress on both fires.
