Starting this month, you can apply for grants through the Comox Valley Community Foundation.
The foundation says these grants are part of the Neighbourhood Small Grants program, aiming to engage and connect people on a neighbourhood level by supporting local projects.
Foundation president Christine Helpard says small projects have a big impact in the community.
“Butterfly highways, seed swaps, family movie nights, art workshops, community BBQs, and emergency planning demonstrations are just a few examples of last year’s projects that brought together community members right in their own neighbourhoods,” says Helpard.
Projects could include sharing the arts, celebrating indigenous culture, growing local food, and environment.
They add the projects should be free, accessible, and welcome to the community.
These grants are available until April 15. To apply, click here.
