The Battle of Breweries is returning to the Comox Valley.
The event is a fundraiser where beer kegs get curled on the ice at the Comox Valley Curling Centre.
This year’s tournament will have Ace Brewing, Beach fire, Cumberland Brewing, Gladstone, Hoyne, Land & Sea, Mount Arrowsmith, and Rad Brewing competing. The money raised will support Cat Advocates Teaching and Saving Society.
Along with the tournament, audience members can try shooting a keg themselves during intermission. Prizes will go to those who get a keg closest to the center of the curling rings.
The curling centre will donate $0.50 from every beer sold during the tournament and the winner will geta the chance to sip from the grand prize trophy the Kegoblet.
The event is open to the public, with admission by donation. It will start on March 23 at 7:30 p.m.
