Stage Three Water Restrictions kick in for Black Creek, Oyster Bay

A heads up now, due to extremely low water levels caused by the record-breaking dry weather conditions, the Comox Valley Regional District moved to stage three water restrictions yesterday for the Black Creek Oyster Bay water system.

That from RD spokesperson Koreen Gurak, who says inflows to the Oyster River are extremely low right now, and the CVRD is switching to ground water wells.

Gurak says water use is down in the Comox Valley and overall, valley residents are complying with the Stage Three Water Restrictions.

Meanwhile the BC Government recently declared Level 4 Drought Conditions, sharply restricting angling activity on Vancouver Island streams and rivers, including the Puntledge River.
