UPDATE: POWER RESTORED in downtown Courtenay after tree hit line

The lights are back on in downtown Courtenay, after the power went out earlier this afternoon.

Nearly 2,000 addresses were without power in Courtenay after a tree fell on the power lines.

The power cut out at around 12:20 pm this afternoon. BC Hydro crews had power restored shortly after 2 pm.

The outage affected addresses on the west side of Cliffe Avenue from the Courtenay Airpark, west to Lake Trail Road and south to the Comox Valley Parkway.
