Courtenay to hold events and activities for national challenge

You can help Courtenay win a community prize by taking part in the National ParticipACTION Community Challenge.

The challenge is a country-wide initiative, aiming to raise awareness on how everyone should have access to physical activity, and how it helps people physically, emotionally, and socially. The most active community wins a grand prize of $100,000.

According to the City, the challenge runs all through June, and Courtenay recreation is encouraging you to take part by enjoying local events and activities.

They include an Outdoor Pool activity card with prizes, free drop-in fitness classes and childminding at the Lewis Centre, wheelchair basketball, an obstacle course at the LINC’s Youth Expo, and an active BINGO card for prizes.
