Comox Valley Regional District launches new tax calculator

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is to make handling taxes easier for property owners.

A new online tax calculator has been released to help electoral area residents get breakdowns of their annual property taxes, explore the services they fund and compare to previous year’s totals.

Chief Administrative Officer for the CVRD James Warren said tax rates can be confusing and hard to understand and he hopes this calculator will help provide better clarity.

“We hope this new program will help by giving people the opportunity to break it down and dig deeper.”

The program explains further how property taxes are used and allows people to customize their own mix of services based on the location of their property.

Property tax notices were sent out from the province’s Surveyor of Taxes Office and owners should have received those notices.

Taxes are due on July 2, 2024.
