Watering lawns and gardens across the Comox Valley will soon be under restrictions.
Stage 1 water restrictions start May 1 for the Black Creek – Oyster Bay, Comox Valley, Royston, and Union Bay water systems.
CVRD Manager of Water Services Mike Herschmiller said with spring having arrived, it’s important to consider water usage across the Comox Valley.
“Although we may continue to see rain for the next few weeks, this time of year is a good reminder for residents to think about how they use water and to conserve when possible.”
Under stage 1 restrictions, lawn and garden sprinkling is permitted between 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Additionally, even numbered addresses are only permitted to sprinkle on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, and Saturday’s, while odd numbered addresses are only permitted on Wednesday’s, Friday’s, and Sunday’s.
No lawn and garden sprinkling are permitted for any addresses on Monday’s.
