And Search and Rescue want to remind residents to be prepared before heading out.
Manager Tim Fairbank says before leaving, let someone know when you’re heading out, where you’re going, how long you’re going for, and when you’ll be back.
Fairbank says to also bring the ten essentials, such as a source of fire, a whistle, extra clothes, extra food and water, and a source of navigation.
Fairbanks says depending where you’re going; you’re going to have to bring equipment, like a life-jacket if you’re on the water. He adds it’s also good to let your contact know if you’re taking a vehicle, and where it will be parked.
