Puntledge River PaddleFest

People are being advised to steer clear of the Puntledge River this weekend as the Puntledge River PaddleFest takes place. Flows down the river will be increased 3 to 4 times its normal rate.

BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson says the event is held to coincide with the snow-melt into the reservoir.

Watson says the paddle fest is a great event to view from the shore, but if you’re not a paddler, you should stay out of the river while the flows are increased.
