Mounties in the Comox Valley are investigating a fatal two-car crash that happened earlier today.
RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says police responded to the call at around 7:55 AM at the intersection of Headquarters Rd. and Tsolum River Rd./Smith Road in Courtenay. Gardner says both drivers were taken to hospital, where one of the drivers succumbed to their injuries.
Gardner says investigators are still on scene trying to determine what happened. The intersection is expected to be closed for the next several hours and an update will be posted when available.
