Leonard up by 148 votes

NDP candidate Ronna-Rae Leonard is now sitting with a 148 vote lead over BC Liberal Jim Benninger as absentee ballots are counted in the electoral district of Courtenay-Comox.

Following a recount Monday, New Democrat Ronna-Rae Leonard held a 13 vote lead. That lead now sits at 148, with Leonard at 10,618 and Benninger in second place with 10,470.

The tight race is being watched across the country as the BC Liberals need only one more seat to form a majority government.

The final results are expected this evening.
