Two people were killed in a collision 10 kilometers north of Campbell River.
Spokesperson with the Campbell River RCMP, Constable Maury Tyre says officers responded to the call around 5:40pm.
“Campbell River RCMP, Campbell River Fire, and BC Paramedics responded to a two-vehicle collision. Two fatalities occurred at the scene and two individuals were taken to hospital in critical condition.”
Tyre says the highway is estimated to remain closed until 11:00pm.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
