Saratoga Motorsports Park gears up for reopening, wants to hear your thoughts

The Saratoga Motorsports Park is gearing up for its grand reopening.

The entertainment hotspot in Black Creek – halfway between Campbell River and the Comox Valley – has been closed for some time. But it was needed as the track underwent major upgrades.

“There has been much determination during this last year to create the motorsports venue that so many have wished for here in Black Creek,” general managers Pat and Carol Monsigneur say.

As the big day – July 3rd – fast approaches and they get ready to reopen the gates, welcoming racers, fans, family, and friends, the Monsigneur’s say they’ve reached a critical point in time: together with the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), they’re hoping to “take the temperature of our community.”

Do you support the proposed redevelopment of Saratoga Motorsports Park, including the addition of an RV Park and new Go-Kart Track?

The CVRD’s planning department and the Board of Directors want to hear from locals. They say the community’s support is “essential to help the CVRD make an informed decision.” It’s a crucial step in the process of the project, the district notes, and despite the support pouring in through social media, they say “it’s the letters and emails that will make a difference.”

Send your comments by June 17th to CVRD Planner Jodi MacLean ([email protected]) and to Area C Director Edwin Grieve ([email protected]).

“We’ve been so incredibly fortunate to have supportive neighbours who have participated and enjoyed the speedway in one way or the other,” the Monsigneur’s add. And today, they “respectfully request” locals show their support by writing to the CVRD.

“Let’s put the final feather in the cap of all this hard work and make sure that the new centre of gravity for organized Vancouver Island motorsports; possibly the last and best, continues to provide excitement, entertainment, and family-oriented fun for everyone over the years to come!”
