Report on 2024-2028 budgets set for Cumberland council meeting

Cumberland council will consider adding more money to electric vehicle charging stations at its next meeting.

On Tuesday, Annie Bérard, Chief Financial Officer for the village, will make a report to council, with a focus on changes to the draft 2024-2028 budgets.

These changes include adding $4,000 for health and safety software implementation, $9,000 for WildSafe BC Coordinator next year, $2,500 for firefighter training, $2,000 for a street tree replacement, and $30,000 for level two charging stations.

The village says after the meeting, council will present both the budgets and a proposed bylaw for the 2024-2028 financial plan to the public as part of an open house.

The open house is happening on November 20, while the council meeting is on Tuesday, with a recorded livestream available on the Village’s YouTube channel.
