Tsunami advisory cancelled by Tsunami Warning System

The Tsunami Advisory issued yesterday evening by the US Tsunami Warning System for much of the BC Coast was cancelled Wednesday morning. The advisory followed an 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Russia and covered most of the BC coast and the northern and western coasts of Vancouver Island, Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula.

Residents in tsunami zones urged to prepare, Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District 

A tsunami watch has been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for several regions on the western and northern parts of Vancouver Island.
