Baynes Sound Connector back in service

As of 3:00 PM, the Baynes Sound connector is back up and running.

The cable ferry between Buckley bay and Denman Island suffered a mechanical issue earlier today and stalled at the mid-point of its route.

BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall says crews have repaired the problem, and the vessel is back in service. She says the ship will go into “shuttle mode” for a few trips to take car of backed up traffic.

She adds that scheduling will return to normal this afternoon.
