Chances Casino inks deal with unionized workers

Just up island now, the picket lines at the Campbell River Chances Casino have come down as unionized employees have come to an agreement with Playtime Gaming.

Rick Wangler, from the Steelworkers Union in Courtenay, describes the deal that was ratified Tuesday evening.

Wangler says there will also be improvements in benefits and premiums for long term employees.

Playtime gaming has put out a statement saying they are happy a collective agreement has been reached, and they will be closed Thursday, with all employees scheduled to return to work on Friday as operations resume.
