Town of Comox hails 2026 Nautical Days festival as a success

The Town of Comox says this year’s Nautical Days Festival brought thousands of residents and visitors to Comox Marina Park over the B.C. Day long weekend.

The festival featured several new attractions, including a T-shirt design contest, community printmaking, a nautical costume competition and photo opportunities with a mermaid and pirate.

Nautical Days Committee chair Chris Haslett said the festival continues to evolve while maintaining its long-standing traditions.

“The Nautical Days Festival has always been about celebrating our community, and this year was no exception. We were thrilled to welcome new activities, entertainers, and fresh energy to some long-standing traditions,” said Haslett. “As a committee, we are always looking for ways to evolve the festival while staying true to what makes it special. We value the feedback we receive from vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, and those perspectives help inform future planning. It takes strong sponsorship, volunteer dedication, and community support to make this annual event possible, and we appreciate everyone who played a part in this year’s success.”

The town says planning for next year’s festival is already underway and is seeking sponsors, volunteers and community supporters.
