Earlier we told about a Lake Trail area resident in Courtenay, who suspected his dog suffered bite wounds from a cougar attack on Friday night. But Conservation Officer Steve Petrovick says that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Petrovick says the vet determined the dog likely didn’t sustain bite puncture wounds consistent with a cougar attack.
Despite that, extreme caution is being advised in the Comox Valley after dozens of recent cougar sightings.
