50 K Funding shot for NIC

From the classroom to the workplace, the BC Government says they are helping British Columbians with disabilities to access the training, resources and technology they need to secure employment.

Twenty public post-secondary institutions, including North Island College, will each receive one-time funding of 50-thousand dollars.

College spokesperson Sue Auchterlonie says the idea is to provide those with disabilities, entry level skills in the construction sector.

The funding shot is in alignment with B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint, which celebrated its one-year anniversary last week.
