NIC Board of Governors appoints new Chair, Vice Chair

North Island College has named new leadership for its board of governors.

Nancy Arsenault has been elected chair, and Jerad Langille will serve as vice-chair.

Arsenault said she looks forward to applying her experience in college governance.

“I look forward to continuing that work as Chair, as the college charts its path forward and positions itself for years to come.”

She joined the board in 2022 and previously served as vice-chair and as chair of the governance and board-development committee.

Arsenault is managing partner of Tourism Café Canada and has more than 30 years of experience in public, private and non-profit sectors.

Langille, a former NIC student, said it feels like a homecoming.

“Almost 30 years ago, I took my first classes here on my way to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant, and now I have the chance to give back to the college that shaped my path.”

He was first appointed to the board in 2023 and has chaired the finance and audit committee.

NIC’s board directory lists him as a chartered professional accountant, duty coxswain with Royal Marine Search and Rescue in the Comox Valley, and former RCMP auxiliary constable.

The NIC Board of Governors oversees the college’s strategic direction and makes policy-level decisions.
