Stuff the Truck returns to Comox Valley Dec. 8

Jet FM’s annual Stuff the Truck fundraiser is back, and the Comox Valley community is being called on to pitch in.

Starting Dec. 8, 98.9 Jet FM will travel to multiple locations across the valley to collect non-perishable food and monetary donations for the local food bank during the holiday season.

Vista Radio’s regional content manager and national music director, Kent Schumaker, said the strength of the event comes from how the community rallies together.

Schumaker comments:

“Our goal is always to beat last year,” Schumaker said. “But that being said, that’s the competitive side. This has no room for competition. This is just about caring about the valley.”

Last year’s campaign raised more than $70,000 in monetary donations and collected 141 pallets of food.

Jet FM will be at the Cumberland Fire Hall on Monday, Dec. 8; the Comox Fire Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 9; and the Courtenay Fire Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

The drive will then move to Thrifty Foods on Cliff Avenue on Dec. 11 and 12, also from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
