Jet FM presents second Saratoga Speedway Opener

Saratoga Speedway’s 2026 racing season continues Saturday, May 2 with the 98.9 Jet FM Season Opener Two.

Six racing classes will begin their seasons Saturday night at the Black Creek oval, one week after the track sold out its Opening Night of Mayhem with what organizers said was the largest crowd recorded at the facility.

“It was an awesome way to get the momentum rolling for 2026, it was a big milestone for SMP,” said SMM marketing director Cole Sorenson.

This weekend marks the return of Saratoga’s traditional racing classes, including the IMOD Modifieds, Non-Winged Sprint Cars, ICONIX Waterworks Stock Cars, Howie’s Car Corral OTRA, Island Outlaw 4’s and OK Tire Courtenay Hornets.

“It will be a busy night of racing and the pit area should be packed,” said Sorenson.

The IMOD Modifieds will headline the night with a 40-lap main event. Defending champion Rhett Smith is expected to face a full field that includes the return of Chris Beaulieu to SMP.
