CVRD continuing regular monitoring of sewage spill site

The Comox Valley Regional District has released its latest update on recovery efforts following a sewage spill in Comox Harbour in May.

The CVRD said water and sediment testing in the area is continuing every two weeks to inform the current advisory.

A water quality advisory remains in place for the foreshore at the spill site, extending to the low tide line.

The CVRD said water in the Comox Harbour Authority east marina has consistently tested safe through several rounds of testing.

The results have allowed the advisory to be lifted for the marina, though people and pets are advised to avoid contact with the foreshore.

The CVRD added that water quality throughout the Comox Harbour wharf continues to test safe for public access.

More information is available on the CVRD’s website.
