Courtenay seeking feedback on draft concepts for Bill Moore and Dogwood parks

The City of Courtenay is seeking public feedback during the second phase of engagement for a strategic plan that will shape the future of Bill Moore Park and Dogwood Park.

The plan will consider the two parks as one connected park system, including the sports field, lawn bowling club, playground, Rotary Trail and surrounding green spaces.

The city said the plan will help guide future investments by identifying opportunities to improve existing amenities, strengthen connections between park areas, enhance accessibility and safety and support a variety of recreational uses.

The second phase focuses on gathering feedback on draft concepts, while the first phase allowed residents to share their ideas through an online survey, pop-up event and community workshops.

Residents can review the draft concepts on the city’s website and provide feedback through an online survey and public open house.

The open house will take place at the Lewis Centre on Aug. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The survey will be available until Sept. 15. Hard copies are available at City Hall, the Lewis Centre, the Linc, the Florence Filberg Centre and the Courtenay Library.
