COMOX VALLEY, B.C.- Local Mounties are on the hunt for a car that was reported stolen earlier this month.
In a release, Constable Rob Gardner said they received the report on Jan. 15th.
A black 2013 Audi Q5 was stolen from a dealership on the 400 block of Ryan Road. Gardner said the theft occurred sometime between the evening of Saturday, Jan. 13th and Monday morning, Jan. 15th.
The Audi is described as having black alloy wheels and a generic plate frame with ‘2013’ on the front and back.
Residents with further information are asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP and cite file number 2018-702.
In the release, Gardner also noted that police continue to respond to thefts from vehicles. Between Jan. 9th and Jan. 15th, the RCMP responded to five calls of thefts from vehicles.
Items taken include loose cash/change, a backpack, electronics, cheques, and license plates.
“The Comox Valley RCMP is reminding residents to ensure your vehicle is always locked if you leave it parked for any length of time,” the release read.
“Always ensure you do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.”
A break, enter and theft was also reported to the RCMP on Jan. 9th. Several construction tools, including nail guns, framing nailers and coil nailers were taken from a work trailer parked overnight on the 300 block of 12th Street in Courtenay.
A property theft was called in on Jan. 11th. Gardner said sometime in the early evening, someone stole a large, portable tent garage from a carport on the 1600 block of Elm Avenue in Comox.
In addition, police are looking into two cases of mischief.
On Jan. 14th, an excavator parked on the 2300 block of Kendal Avenue in Cumberland, was spray painted, causing damage to the windows.
On the same day, mischief to a business on the 2700 block of Dunsmuir Avenue was reported. The front window had been smashed sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight on Jan. 13th.
Gardner said no one broke into the business.
