New project aims to improve collaboration in Courtenay

A new communications strategy is designed to bring enhanced collaboration to Courtenay.

Spur Communication will present the strategy to members of council and says it will focus on a more consistent approach to communication and engagement through a new framework.

They say by having this framework, it ensures that every voice is heard and valued from City council to residents on future topics.

The project would have four key elements such as inclusivity, transparency, accountability, and ongoing learning.

The project’s goal is to streamline processes, improve resourcing and collaboration, increase accessibility, and allow for stronger advocacy for the community.

As part of the work, they will be presenting the project to Courtenay’s mayor and council during Wednesday’s council meeting, with hopes of finalizing it by December.

The meeting will start at 3:00 p.m.
