Comox Valley RCMP seek assistance in armed robbery investigation

Comox Valley RCMP are seeking assistance identifying a suspect following an armed robbery at a Courtenay business Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Lotusland Wellness Centre in the 300 block of 11th Street at about 10 p.m.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that a lone male entered the business and brandished what appeared to be a firearm,” said Comox Valley RCMP. “The suspect demanded money from staff before fleeing the business on foot.”

RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian man of average height with a slender build. He has brown eyes and was wearing light-coloured pants, a dark long-sleeved hoodie and a blue or purple T-shirt.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who has security or dashcam footage to contact them.
