19 Wing Comox holding local training exercises this week

Comox Valley residents may see increased military activity this week as 19 Wing Comox conducts two training exercises.

Auxiliary Security Force personnel will train at 19 Wing and the Seal Bay training site until Friday, with a final exercise that day that could affect traffic entering the wing.

The Recovery and Salvage team will also conduct an aircraft recovery exercise at Seal Bay through Thursday.

The exercises will involve military vehicles, personnel in combat uniforms and equipment, as well as temporary field camps.

19 Wing says the activities are routine military training and there is no need to report them to the wing or local emergency services.
