60 firefighters gathered in Comox this weekend for the Vancouver Island Firefighters Association’s annual training weekend.
Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says crews were run through a variety of training scenarios. He says it was a great way to share ideas between departments and an opportunity for Comox members to take part in teaching activities.
Schreiner says the event was held with many of the smaller fire crews across the island such as Sointula and Ucluelet.
Schreiner says it was a win-win for everyone involved, with his crew members leadership skills growing with the weekend exercises.
