Biggest ice bucket challenge yet in Courtenay

Over sixty people came out to the Anfield Center in Courtenay Monday morning, as employees of the various businesses in the complex took on the biggest ice bucket challenge the Comox Valley has seen so far.

A long, winding line of buckets filled with ice water were along the sidewalk in the centers parking lot, and one after another, the water came falling down.

The Goat newsroom was there, and we spoke to some of the fundraisers after their cold shower.

Donations are still being tallied, but organizers said at least $300 was already raised online in the days leading up to the big event.

The ice bucket challenge has become a social media phenomenon this summer, with people dumping ice cold buckets of water over their head to raise money, and awareness for ALS research.
