Use caution around area rivers

Residents are being advised to use caution around area rivers over the next few days.

The BC River Forecasting Centre issued a flood warning yesterday morning after intense rainfall and inflows in the Browns, Tsolum, and Oyster Rivers.

Spokesperson Toby Gardener says the flows dropped quickly once the weather cleared, but you should still be cautious around the rivers for the next few days.

Gardener says it’s a good idea to stay away from river banks after big rain events like the ones the Comox Valley has seen recently.
