BC Ferries is gearing up for a busy summer season.

The company will be providing over 34,000 sailings throughout the next few months, once the summer schedule comes into effect at the end of June.

BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall says additional sailings have been added on major routes. She says they’ve added 200 more sailings.

Marshall says between the end of June through to Labor Day weekend, sailings can be very busy. 33 vessels will be in service on the 24 routes Ferries has to offer travelers.

She notes that generally weekends are busier than weekdays, but travelers should always check the BC Ferries website for updates as they plan their trip.
