Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue responded to a scene at Strathcona Provincial Park.
Ground Search and Rescue manager Paul Berry says A 42-year-old woman fell between 20 to 30 metres off of a ridge onto the rocks at Augerpoint on Saturday.
He notes that the woman was walking with a partner, who signaled for help.
Berry says the hikers were well prepared and that they issued a spot distress beacon as well as an in-reach – which allowed SAR to communicate with them via text.
The woman was taken to hospital in Comox before being transported to Victoria.
Crews also received a distress beacon to rescue four people from King’s Peak near Gold River.
RCMP and 442 from CFB Comox conducted that rescue. Campbell River SAR was also called out to find a missing man near Morton Lake, who was successfully located.
