Island Health is looking for a provider for new long-term care beds for the Comox Valley.
Director of Residential Services, Tim Orr, says the facility will have up to 70 beds and provide complex care for seniors and other individuals needing residential care. Orr says they’re looking for someone who will own and operate the building.
He notes that Island Health will fund the facility on an operating agreement.
The Request for Proposals closes in December with the contract set to be awarded in April 2017. Orr says they are targeting to have the new care beds open in 2019.
