On April 30th, 2014 just before 4:00 pm the Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist on Jubilee Parkway just west of Dogwood Street.

BC Ambulance Service and Campbell River Fire Rescue also attended. Police attended and commenced an investigation and were able to speak with witnesses and the driver who had remained at the collision scene. The male cyclist was immediately attended to following the collision and first aid was performed however he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The roadway was closed while police investigator’s conducted a scene examination.

The investigation is continuing and will focus on possible causes for the collision. Police do not suspect speed or alcohol as factors in the collision at this time. The cyclist’s name is not being released. Support to the family of the deceased was provided by the Campbell River RCMP Victim Services.
