COURTENAY, B.C- A main route in the Comox Valley will be seeing some overnight slowdowns.

According to a notice from the City of Courtenay, 17 Street between Fitzgerald and Cliffe Avenues will be going down to single-lane alternating traffic tonight, starting at midnight.

The shutdown will last until 8:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Repair work and upgrades to storm drains in the area will be done during the shutdown time, and traffic control workers will be on hand to assist commuters and emergency vehicles.
