Pedestrian struck at Cliffe and 6th in downtown Courtenay

COURTENAY, B.C. – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Cliffe Avenue and 6th Street this morning.

A witness who was crossing the intersection at the same time as the victim said she was knocked off her feet by the impact.

According to the witness, the victim was conscious and alert and was able to walk into an ambulance under her own power.

Cliffe Avenue between 8th Street and 6th Street was blocked momentarily to traffic to allow emergency response vehicles including fire trucks, the ambulance, and an RCMP cruiser to respond.
