Chains needed for Strathcona Parkway today

MOUNT WASHINGTON, B.C- Drivers need to chain up on the way up Mount Washington today.

According to online notices from DriveBC and Mount Washington Alpine Resort, the mount received 48 centimetres of snow in the past 24 hours. That snow caused some traffic issues overnight on Strathcona Parkway, though exact details of those issues are not available as of this publication.

DriveBC is reporting winter driving conditions between Alpine Road and Dove Creek Road for 17.7 kilometres, with chain-up required for passenger and commercial vehicles. Traveling without chains is prohibited.

Any further updates to that notice will be reported on as they become available.
