“The victim, who is known to police, was rushed to a local hospital by BC Ambulance Service.”

The attack is not believed to have been random, and officers are looking for two vehicles seen leaving the area before police arrived.

One was described as a blue/teal coloured 4-door Mazda and the other as a white Chevrolet pickup truck with no canopy.

On Friday, Corporal Tori Cliffe with the Comox Valley RCMP confirmed the case was being worked by the plainclothes unit, and is an active investigation.
