The City of Courtenay says the new Fitzgerald Corridor Cycling Expansion Project is almost complete.
Crews added painted bike lanes, road markings, pedestrian-controlled lights, and new curb extensions between 5th and 8th Streets.
The city says the project is mostly complete, with new trees being planted either later this fall or next spring.
Construction began in late August with work entering full swing in mid-September.
