Cumberland theft victims asked to come forward

If you had your vehicle broken into in Cumberland last weekend, the Comox Valley RCMP wants to touch base with you.

The RCMP is looking to identify owners of property believed to be stolen in the village last weekend.

On Jan. 18 at about 8:00pm, police arrested a man in Cumberland who is believed to be linked to several thefts from vehicles around Windermere Avenue.

“The man started tossing items away after he saw police in the area,” said Comox Valley RCMP media relations officer, Cst. Monika Terragni.

“Naturally, investigators believe the items tossed by the suspect are stolen but we have not received the reports to confirm this,” she added.
