CVAC board to be compensated

Comox Valley Airport Commission board members are about to get a paycheque, but taxpayers will not be hit in the pocketbook on that.

CVAC Chair Frank van Gisbergen says after much deliberation, the decision has been made to compensate the nine board board members, to the tune of a total of $49, 000 a year.

Frank van Gisbergen says the idea is to continue to attract quality candidates to the CVAC board.

CVAC officials say the decision to provide compensation brings YQQ in line with the majority of airports across Canada, including other Vancouver Island airports such as Victoria International Airport and Nanaimo Airport.
