Environment Canada is predicting sunny skies this long weekend – and there’s no better way to enjoy the weather, than at one of the many splash or water parks around the Comox Valley.
In Comox, the Rotary Splash Park – located at Marina Park – opened for the season today (Friday). It will be open from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm daily throughout the summer.
The Village Water Park in Cumberland also opened for the season this morning. The park will stay open until the Labour Day long weekend, from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm daily.
Meanwhile, in Courtenay, the Rotary Water Park opens tomorrow for the summer season. Located next to Lewis Park, it’ll be open from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm daily. As for the Lewis Park Pool, it’s set to open on May 31st.
And in Campbell River, the newly built splash park next to the Sportsplex is now up and running. It’s open from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm daily, but the water is scheduled to shut off on Labour Day.
At all locations, kids of all ages are welcome.
However, keep in mind that the BC Ministry of Health issued guidance to operators of public outdoor equipment and spray parks last June, and this is still in effect this year.
Sick children should not enter splash parks, a physical distance of two metres between parents and guardians should be maintained, and children should clean their hands before and after using parks.
