No injuries after float plane crashes into waters off Campbell River

Story by Ethan Morneau, Vista Radio staff

There are no injuries to report after a float plane made an unscheduled landing in the water near Painter’s Lodge this morning (Thursday).

The local Coast Guard tells My Comox Valley Now the plane went down just before 8:00 am near a sandbar. They say the plane has since been recovered and secured to a float plane dock.

According to the Coast Guard, this case is still ongoing and hasn’t been ‘closed off’ yet. We’ll update this story when more information becomes available.
