Proof of vaccination required at CVRD sports and aquatic centres for those aged 22 and older

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is now requiring proof of vaccination from those aged 22 and older who want to take part in several activities at the Comox Valley Sports Centre and the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre.

People will need to show that they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to participate in all ice rental activities and other adult sports programs or to use the fitness studio and wellness centre.

Those under the age of 22 will also have to show that they have been vaccinated at events with over 50 people.

“As a way to help protect our community from COVID-19 and reopen our facilities safely, all adults 22 years and over will be required to show proof of vaccination status when attending these particular activities in our facilities,” said Jennifer Zbinden, Senior Manager of Recreation Services. “We are working on logistic plans right now to comply with the public health order and reduce impacts to our patrons from a customer service standpoint. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate these new orders.”

The provincial health order is expected to be in place until Jan. 31, 2022 and could be extended.
