Local ride-hailing platform resumes full-time service

Local ride-hailing service Coastal Rides is expanding with the addition of new drivers.

Coastal Rides launched in the Comox Valley on July 17, 2020 and have only had one or two drivers at a time.

The service now has five drivers in the Comox Valley.

“We also have additional drivers that are just about ready to come onboard,” said Coastal Rides founder Ryan Staley.

“We strive to provide a modern transportation option for people in the Comox Valley. I’m happy to say we now have solid coverage during the day and into the evening. Customers are using our service to get around the valley as well as to connect to airports, ferries and destinations on the north and south island and even to Tofino.”

Coastal Rides is still looking for more drivers to join.

“There’s a gap here that needs to be filled,” said Staley. “It would be great if we had 10 or 20 drivers. The idea of this is that people can work when they want to.

“We want to connect customers who enjoy the modern conveniences of ride-hailing service with drivers looking to earn extra income on their own schedule. We are currently operating in the Comox Valley, Powell River, Texada Island and on the Sunshine Coast.”
