Municipalities remind voters of voting day requirements

The Town of Comox, City of Courtenay, and Village of Cumberland are reminding voters what’s required to vote on Saturday.

General voting day on Oct. 15 will see mayors elected in Courtenay and Cumberland, with councillors and school trustees to be elected in all three municipalities.

The municipalities say two pieces of identification will be needed if you are not on the voter list or a non-resident property elector. One of them needs to have your signature.

Voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Comox voters can make their way to the Comox Community Centre located at 1855 Noel Ave.

Voting in the City of Courtenay will take place at Queneesh Elementary School on 2345 Mission Rd. and at the Florence Filberg Centre at 411 Anderton Ave.

Voting in Cumberland will be done at the Buchanan Hall of the Cumberland Cultural Centre at 2674 Dunsmuir Ave.

The City of Courtenay adds that mail-in ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Saturday.
